HHU StartHeiCAD

Heine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (HeiCAD)

With the founding of the Heine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (HeiCAD), the HHU is pursuing the goal of bundling and advancing activities in the research fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The Center cooperates closely with the Manchot research group "Decision Making with Artificial Intelligence Methods". The aim is to develop a cross-faculty AI strategy for the HHU based on application examples (KI@HHU).

HeiCAD establishes the research area Artificial Intelligence at the HHU by

  • researching the social, political, ethical, legal, economic and technical aspects of artificial intelligence,
  • providing an infrastructure for interdisciplinary research projects,
  • establishing the exchange between science, politics and practice,
  • promoting the next generation of scientists,
  • participating in the development of the future field of artificial intelligence in NRW in cooperation with university and non-university research institutions and
  • displaying HHU research results in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
