HeiCADRetreat 2026
On 12 June 2026, HeiCAD will dedicate an entire day to an exchange on AI and data science at the Haus der Universität in Düsseldorf. The main goal of the event is to bring together the research groups of HeiCAD members and others as well as provide an opportunity to discuss ideas on AI and data science across faculties. Catering is provided and there will be plenty of opportunity to network over lunch, interactive poster sessions and a social get-together in the afternoon.
In order to bring this programme to life, we would like to ask for the following:
“45 Second Madness”
Here are the instructions for the format and submission of the slides:
- All participants are required to prepare a slide and present their research interests in exactly 45 seconds. For PhD students and other poster presenters, the “45 Second Madness” also serves as a teaser for their posters.
- Please note that we take time very seriously! Presentations lasting longer than 45 seconds will be kindly interrupted.
- Please prepare a presentation slide and send it in pdf format to heicad(at)hhu.de by 29 May 2026.
Poster Session
Here are the instructions for the format and submission of the posters:
- PhD students are required to prepare a poster.
- The poster should be in size A1, portrait format.
- Please send your poster in pdf format to heicad(at)hhu.de by 29 May 2026.
- Finally, please bring a printed copy of your poster to the event.
- If you need an idea of what such a poster could look like, here is an optional (!) template from HHU (intranet) and here are last year's entries.
FYI: We would like to upload all posters here on our website in order to make them available to all participants and other interested parties before, during and after the HeiCADRetreat. If you do not agree to your poster being published here, please indicate this in your email.
Custom Colloquia
- All participants, especially PhD students, have the opportunity to propose a colloquium on a topic of their choice during the registration phase. In order to reduce the complexity of the registration process, we will send a separate registration form to interested presenters. The HeiCAD team will then assemble groups of researchers from related disciplines to form discussion and tutorial groups.
- All other participants will be invited to join one of the colloquia and take part in the discussions. We will suggest group assignments that bring together researchers from different working groups, career stages and backgrounds, so the colloquia will also be a great opportunity for all participants to network and get to know researchers from across HeiCAD!
