Our self-study course “KI für Lehrende” has surpassed the milestone of 1,000 participants on the AI Campus! This number highlights the enormous relevance and current need for action that the topic of generative AI has in higher education.
“KI für Lehrende” is a self-study course in video format that was developed specifically for lecturers at universities. In addition to the technical basics of large language models, the course also covers legal, social, and ethical aspects that are critical for lecturers. A special focus is placed on university-specific didactic issues, such as adapting exam formats and performance assessment in light of new possibilities. The aim is to enable teachers to develop realistic expectations of generative AI tools and to establish a responsible approach to their use.
The course content is published as Open Educational Resources (OER) to enable free reuse. In addition, we will provide subtitles for the videos from spring 2026 onwards to make the course more accessible. A revision of the course is also planned for next year, during which relevant course content will be updated or supplemented.
