KI-Governance: How supervision and leadership need to be rethought – HeiCADLecture by Daniela Weber-Rey, LL.M.

Daniela Weber-Rey, LL.M., and Prof. Dr. Andrea von Hülsen-Esch

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Daniela Weber-Rey, LL.M. (lawyer and supervisory board member as well as advisor to various companies and institutions) gave a HeiCADLecture focusing on AI as a governance factor and how supervision and leadership need to be rethought.

Mrs. Weber-Rey explained that the increasing use of artificial intelligence has an impact far beyond products and processes and brings with it new requirements for corporate governance. Members of the executive and supervisory boards have a greater responsibility to deal intensively with the potential and risks of AI – both within the company and in the interaction between the committees and in dialogue with stakeholders. The presentation highlighted who is challenged in this context, what opportunities are opening up, and how AI can be used responsibly and sustainably.
