With Werft01, a new AI center is being created in Düsseldorf: Here, among other things, the legal, economic and ethical consequences of machine thinking and learning will be investigated. In this cooperation project, the All for One Group and the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) offer a creative workspace for students, researchers and companies from the SME sector.
With the ability to analyze huge amounts of data faster than any human being, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already a key tool for both research and business. Both are now coming together for the first time in Düsseldorf in an AI center to discuss questions beyond the programming of algorithms: Werft01 offers attractive working spaces for new, responsible approaches to solutions that are also intended to help companies increase their competitiveness.
Creating and living innovation together - this is the guiding principle behind HHU and All for One in realizing Werft01. At the opening with Düsseldorf's Oberbürgermeister Thomas Geisel, Dr. Thomas Fischer, Member of Group Management Board of the All for One Group and Prof. Dr. Klaus Pfeffer, Vice Rector for Strategic Management and Equal Opportunities at HHU, presented the cooperation project.
"The AI will significantly influence and change many areas of research and teaching at Heinrich Heine University", HHU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Klaus Pfeffer is sure. "Of crucial importance for this transformation process is, among other things, to provide a spatial offer for a place where people can come together even in unusual constellations. With Werft01, members of the university now have such premises at their disposal, in which the processes towards AI-supported research and teaching can be shaped with creativity, joy and enthusiasm".
For commercial enterprises, the culture of innovation is just as much a central driver of success as it is for teaching and research. Werft01 offers a place for this that is geared towards modern and interactive work. The City of Düsseldorf's Economic Development Agency helped to find the new premises in the Holthausen "Rheinhöfe", a revitalized old industrial site.
