The Heine Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (HeiCAD) is a central scientific institution of the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf with the aim to develop educational programmes in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, to network researchers and to make knowledge accessible to the public.

With the help of funding from the Jürgen Manchot Foundation from 2019-2024, a nationally recognisable research and infrastructure has been established at HHU through the research group ‘Decision-making with the help og Artificial Intelligence’.

At HHU, numerous researchers from all faculties are working on research projects in the field of AI and data science. Many of these projects have an interdisciplinary approach.

All faculties at HHU have working groups focused on AI and data science. 

HHU has a long-standing institutional cooperation with Forschungszentrum Jülich. This also has an impact on cooperation in the field of AI and data science.
