Welcome to HeiCAD!

The Heine Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (HeiCAD) is a central scientific institution of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU). Its tasks are to bundle all activities in the field of Artificial Intelligence at HHU, to strengthen and communicate them internally and externally, and to network staff members across faculties in research and teaching. In addition, the HeiCAD is building a continuing education program that will enable all students and staff at HHU to further their education in the field of AI and data science according to their specific needs ("AI for All").

The HeiCAD was founded with support from the structural fund of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is closely linked to the research group "Decision-making by the help of Artificial Intelligence" funded by the Jürgen Manchot Foundation Düsseldorf, in which scientists from all faculties are involved. In this research group, concepts for interdisciplinary research and teaching in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and data science are tested, which are subsequently made usable for all areas of HHU by the HeiCAD.
